Planning is useful to do and I did learn already that each country does have its own specifications to be taken into consideration and it is helpful being open but also creative with the attitude that the hope and the personal energy are the key drivers that will lead the idea, the concept, the plan into a successful implementation at the end.
The transition period between 2024 and 2025, I was using as a reflection period and as communication and exchange time with family, friends, future friends and potential supporters.

Workshops, Trainings, Seminars, Weddings....
In the first week of March 2025, we are beginning to build a Geodesic Dome in the centre of our coming Paradise Garden Area. It will have a Diameter of about 8 meters and a height of about 4,5 meters.
This Dome will be the first of 2 Glamping facilities build in 2025 too host guests for trainings, workshops, seminars, retreats, weddings, etc.
Approximately from End May / Beginnng of June, the Dome shall be ready for use...

The Hortus' Permaculture Concept
Since the first moment that Hortus was started, the idea of having a permaculture garden was born. So far, we had many volunteers and many promises to help as well as some quite interesting business proposals (that were a bit too expensive for the Hortus budget) but we could not realize the perma-garden implementation. In 2024, I started with a group of volunteers and some reading, but besides some sold preparation measures, we could not achieve more. There were coming up other urgent duties that we had to focus on. In 2025, there is a light shining already. In March, two experienced permaculture experts did agree to join the Hortus and to help with the planning and implantation of the Hortus Permaculture Concept. I did learn from the first online meetings that we should not concentrate just on a garden area but making a concept for the overall Hortus ground. Well, I am already excited to start with the practical planning and implementation in March 2025. We are lucky to have additional volunteers helping with the physical work of the implementation and learning from the experts.
In April / May, we are planning to start building a Geodesic Dome in the permaculture garden section. We do have one German Carpenter who is ready to help us with this, but if there would be one or two more, ready to volunteer, we would be very happy.

The Hortus' Food Forest Building
The idea of building a Food Forest was arising within the studies of literature and best practice ideas for the sustainability concept of the Hortus Cyrenaicus. We did collect some ideas during the last year and were looking for the suitable experts’ hat would be interested to help us in the overall planning but also the implementation of the Food Forest. There were two approaches that sound interesting, one to recreate the existing fruit orchards into food forest conceptions and the second to build a new food forest section where we can plant crops, potatoes, etc. Fortunately, I did find two experts’ hat will be starting in March / April 2025 with the implementation of the Food Forest section(s). In January and February, we are having meetings to discuss how to implement the Food Forest into the overall Permaculture Concept. Also, for the food forest building we do have already additional volunteers who are eager to support and to learn from the experts.
In the Food Forest sections, we are planning to build some small constructions for live sock, like Chicken, Sheep, Donkeys. The Food Forest will be the place where we plan to erect an octagonal meditation pavilion. Here we could use also some more help from wood working specialists to build these constructions.

The Agritouristic Wood Houses
For more than two Years, we are trying to build a complex of four tiny wood houses that include a music studio and a stage. The challenge of receiving the permit finally was overcome in Summer 2024 after waiting more than 18 months… So we started with the foundation of the first wood house and within the concrete building, we had to wait another 9 weeks for an engineer to come to have a look at the grounding… anyhow, we finally got this and 1 week before Christmas, the concrete was done… uff…
Now, we are looking forward to set the first wood house up in January 2025. This house is already prefabricated and waiting 2 years to be put on its place…
This was so extraordinary expensive so far that there is not enough money for completing the other three wood houses and the stage at present. By March 2025, I do expect having the missing budget but we need to safe money. So, I am looking forward to find a few carpenters, who can read the construction plans and who would be ready helping us in building the missing three wood houses in April, May, June 2025. We are planning to have the first music event on the stage in August 2025, but this of course depends on some magic supports…
